OKOTOKS, AB - The Mavs took to the field Tuesday night against the best team of the WCBL regular season, the Okotoks Dawgs, to attempt to capture their first WCBL Championship. The Dawgs add five more unanswered runs with a 2 run home run by Alejandro Cazorla in the third and runs from Eric Hartman, Brendan Luther and Logan Grant in the fourth.

The two teams were held scoreless in the fifth, but the Dawgs added another run from Connor Crowson in the sixth. Dawgs Pitcher Graham Brunner pitched 6 scoreless innings facing 25 batters, striking out 8.

The Dawgs scored 8 runs off 14 hits to shutout the Mavs for a final score of 8-0. Game two of the three game series goes Wednesday night at Athletic Park at 7:05 PM.
