Canada Summer Jobs Program Now Open
Canada Summer Jobs program is now open for applications.
The launch of the 2025 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is now open. A summer job plays an important role in a young person’s life – putting money in their pocket for education and living expenses and it also allows them to learn new skills, build confidence and explore their career interests. When young people have the skills and experience they need to join the workforce, they benefit our communities and economy.
Employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees can apply for funding to hire students next summer. Full-time job placements will become available starting in April 2025.
Glen Motz, Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat–Cardston-Warner stated, “I would encourage not-for-profit organizations and eligible employers in Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner to apply. Let’s empower our young people by assisting them in developing their skills and gaining valuable workplace experience.”
National priorities include: youth with disabilities or organizations that provide services to persons with disabilities; youth underrepresented in the labour market; youth in rural/remote areas; organizations in housing construction; and sustainable jobs that support the protection of the environment.
In Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner, MP Motz’s local priorities will also focus on: not-for-profit organizations; small businesses; municipal activities; agriculture; and projects supporting local and regional tourism development.
Canada Summer Jobs employer applications are being accepted from today until December 19, 2024. Employers interested in applying for CSJ 2025 funding can submit their applications electronically through the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) portal.
