My name is Holly Turnbull, and I am the face behind Holsom Wellness. I offer trauma-informed, non-judgmental counselling to Albertans as a Registered Provisional Psychologist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. I offer unique support to my clients as I have completed both Dr. Gabor Maté’s 240-hour Compassionate Inquiry Professional Training Program as well as the subsequent Mentorship Program, and I currently support the program as an Intern. I was born and raised in rural Manitoba, and moved to Alberta in 2010. My background combines experience supporting individuals living with complex diagnoses; combat arms within the Canadian Forces with domestic deployment experiences; and I am also a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and a Psychological Health and Safety Advisor with intimate knowledge of labour legislation. I have experience working with Kids Help Phone, Veteran Transition Network, and Sanare Centre (supporting individuals who experienced sexual assault or trauma). These experiences have cultivated a client-centered, systems-based, and biopsychosocial approach to wellness. My formal education includes a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Zoology, and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Alberta. I have been published in the Journal of Experimental Biology (Rombough & Drader, 2009), am a passionate life-long learner, and am dedicated to bringing effective and evidence-based modalities to my work. You can contact me either via my website www.holsom.ca or via email at connect@holsom.ca . I offer sessions both in person and virtually; for individuals, groups, or couples; and direct billing is available for some insurance providers including Blue Cross, Medavie (RCMP, Veterans Affairs) and those covered under Alberta School Employment Benefit Plan.
