Working with Medicine Hat Tourism, the local Sunrise Rotary club donated funds raised through an e-bike raffle, and other fundraising efforts, to provide a discount for schools taking educational tours on the two Sunshine Trolleys. A total of 58 classes from 24 schools took part, allowing over 1350 students and teachers to enjoy learning about the history and sites of Medicine Hat. Kindergarten students from Irvine and Ralston schools also participated.

The club supports various efforts to promote literacy in the community and the members felt that this was a good way to help the young people learn in an unique and fun way. Many of the classes participated in a treasure hunt developed by Medicine Hat Tourism in order to make the kids more involved in the learning experience.

The number of students this year far exceeded the expectations of the planners and they anticipate that it will grow in the future as more classes will want to participate.
