REGINA, SK - The Medicine Hat Mavericks cleaned the Sox clocks Tuesday night in Regina with an 9-1 drubbing and swept the best-of-three series 2 games to none.
The Mavs had 9 runs on 13 hits and 1 error, while the Sox had 1 run on 4 hits and 2 errors. Brady Bean lead the Mavs with 2 runs, 2 hits and 3 RBIs. The Mavs scored 4 runs in first inning and another 4 runs in the fifth to take a commanding lead and stay there. Dylan Esquival pitched 5 strong innings with 1 hit, no runs and 6 strike outs. The Mavs scored one more run in the seventh on a Sox error. The Sox managed to score one in the sixth but ultimately failed to rally back late in the game.
The Mavs will play the Moose Jaw Miller Express in the Eastern Conference final as the Express defeated the Swift Current 57's 8-6 to take their best-of three-series 2 games to none.
